We breed for sound body and temperament, we health test all our own breeding stock and require the same health checks be done on the sire. We have not bred often but take considerable time and effort into choosing the best match for each breeding, discussing the pedigree and attributes of each with our mentors as well as other breeders of Rhodesian Ridgeback for their input as to our choices. We require hips and elbows to be x-rayed for dysplasia, eyes, heart, and thyroid panels to be checked. The results of all our health checks are posted for your review on OFA’s website: www.offa.org

All our dogs are family pets first and foremost! Therefore we believe that all puppies should start their lives with us the same way, they are whelped in our family room and live in our family room or outside during the nice days the entire time they live with us. We carefully monitor temperament throughout the time they are with us, evaluating each puppy individually. They receive our undivided attention, along with their mother’s during their time with us. We also invite other breeders to assess our litters, both for health and temperament.

We encourage potential puppy owners to visit us before puppies are born, and to visit with the puppies as often as they like. We will also post pictures of the puppies regularly on our website.
Yes, Ridgebacks make great family pets, with training for both the children and ridgebacks.  We don’t have litters often, but if you are interested in a puppy please free to contact us either by phone or email.
